Frequently Asked Questions
“How long will it take?”
“How long is a piece of string?” I can never predict how long we need to work together and prefer that to happen naturally. I am prepared to undertake both short and long term work but at all stages your feelings about whatever happens will be taken into account rather than my always presuming to know what is needed.
“I don’t remember my dreams. Does that mean I can’t come to you?”
Not at all. If this work is right for you it isn’t unusual to begin to remember dreams once we get to know one another. Psyche appears to be very relieved to discover when someone is listening…
“Will I get worse before I get better?”
This is frequently asked about homeopathy and it isn’t unusual to experience long buried emotions when undertaking psychotherapy. When we can let go of judgmental words like “better” and “worse”, we may open our hearts and minds to discovering the relevance within our lives of whatever is happening.
What does it cost?
I charge £50 per hour. There is a charge for sessions cancelled within 24 hours.
How often will I need to come?
Usually once a week; we can discuss this when we meet. In this regard I work primarily as a psychotherapist, for pure homeopaths tend to schedule appointments at monthly intervals. I allow for our conversations in the consulting room to be a vital ingredient of any remedy whilst the way that I work also allows for our not employing remedies at all when it seems unnecessary or when you elect not to do so.
When are you available?
I am available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and occasionally on other days, including in the early evening. I usually offer you a regular time for us to meet but am glad to work flexibly with persons who, e.g., work shifts.
Will I need to commit to a certain number of hours?
No. I do not work to contract, but with your process.
